About the event

Ever wanted to learn more about hedgehogs and help them out in your garden? Now's your chance! Hedgehogs will be out of hibernation and it is the perfect time to look out for them and give them a helping hand, and give you all the information and guidance you'll need. You'll also get to have a go at a range of hedgehog activities including:

  • Colouring in a hedgehog highway sign
  • Decorating a feeding bowl
  • Creating a footprint tunnel to help monitor hedgehog and other small mammal activity in your garden
  • We'll also have a couple of smaller hedgehog themed crafts available

We're hoping to run this activity in our education area if the weather allows so please dress for the weather. If it's particularly rainy, we'll stay in the visitor centre.

CAR PARKING: Car parking charges apply for Summer Leys and can be paid for on the day (card payments only). Parking for members of the Wildlife Trust BCN is FREE - Members MUST register their vehicles to access free parking, for more information please visit here.

Mobility

If the weather allows we may run this activity in our Education area, which is grassy and uneven so not suitable for wheelchairs. If you are a wheelchair user or have other mobility requirements and would like to join, please drop us an email to let us know you are coming and we can very easily set up the activity in our wheelchair accessible visitor centre instead.
