About the event

This is part of a series of Wild in the Meadows family sessions based at Trumpington Meadows Nature Reserve on Thursdays during school holidays and on Saturdays during the warmer months.

In this session we'll explore some natural materials that can be used to dye things. We'll make beautiful art by colouring  eggs and upcycled bed-sheet canvases. We'll also go for a short walk to look for spring wildlife.

This session will be run by Wildlife Trust BCN staff and volunteers and is aimed at 5 to 11 year olds, but younger and older siblings are more than welcome and will still find things to enjoy.

Additional information

  • Please refer to our event terms and conditions webpage for details on refunds and cancellations, as well as general information about how we run our events
  • The benefits of joining the Wildlife Trust BCN include a reduced rate for events. Family membership is from £5 a month.
  • These are family sessions so children need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. The sessions are designed for everyone to enjoy.
  • There are no toilet facilities for this session
  • Our family activities in Trumpington are supported by The Community Fund at The Leys, Cambridge

What to bring

To avoid bites, stings and scratches, long sleeves and long trousers are suggested for all participants. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy, and sturdy shoes. The sessions will go ahead even if it rains, so you may require waterproofs. It is unlikely but if it is especially windy or lightening is forecast, it may not  be advisable to run the session. If this happens, we will let you know as soon as possible and refund your money.
