Bushmead Hub Garden Club
Event details
About the event
Bushmead Hub Garden Club runs every other Tuesday from 10am to 12pm. All ages and abilities are welcome!
During a Tuesday morning session we will be looking after the front and the rear garden at Bushmead Hub. Both spaces have been created to support and encourage more wildlife into the garden!
The front and back gardens showcase how gardening can be beneficial for wildlife. Here you will find log piles, bird feeders, bug hotels, pollinator-rich plants (perennials, shrubs, climbers), wildflower meadow, wildlife pond, and how we can all take actions in our green spaces to make room for nature!
This is a great opportunity for you to:
-learn about wildlife gardening. Gardening for wildlife is important because it increases biodiversity, supports the ecosystem, and benefits our wellbeing and our sense of nature connectedness. It is more than just planting! Wildlife gardening also entails creating more spaces for wildlife for shelter, breeding, nesting, diverse food sources and water.
-grow vegetables from seed to plate.
- meet like minded-people
- learn a new skill or share your knowledge with others
- engage in nature crafts activities
- help local wildlife thrive in this communal space
- spend time outdoors and be active!
If you would like to join the garden club sessions, please contact Ieva: ieva.piraga@wildlifebcn.org, phone: 07871987381.
**We always look for new volunteers and people who would like to look after Bushmead Hub Gardens on a regular basis. If this is something you would like to get involved with, please feel free to get in touch with Ieva.
