About the event
Sadly, some species are becoming hard to find and we have chosen to visit a local hotspot to listen for Nightingales. But they will not be alone! The air should be alive with song from warblers or squabbling Nuthatches. The copse, mainly Blackthorn, Ash and Oak, has SSSI status for Black Hairstreak butterflies and although possibly too early for its fight season, we shall be alert to other wildlife found its this woodland habitat.
As a separate option, a communal breakfast at Rectory Farm Kitchen (see https://rectoryfarmkitchen.co.uk/) will be a warming way to reminisce about our sightings. Booking is essential - please contact the Kitchen direct before 4pm on 17th May quoting reference Peterborough Local Group booking. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
