Youth Rangers- Hexton Estate
About the event
This Youth Ranger session will be our first visit to the Hexton Estate which now belongs to Natural England. This is a really large and exciting site as it links existing nature reserves to create a vast area set aside for wildlife and nature.
We will meet at the estate office, just inside Hexton village, and learn about this new site before heading across the road to explore part of it and help the local ranger manage a small area of scrub.
Tools, refreshments and safety gloves will be provided to all those attending. It is a great chance to meet other young people interested in the natural environment, learn new skills and help the Trust and our partners to manage nature reserves.
Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy boots, no experience is required just some enthusiasm and willingness to join in. Staff are on hand throughout the session and do contact us before this event if you have any queries and if you have not attended a Youth Ranger session before as there is a parental permission form to complete first.
