About the event

This is not your average nature walk! Embark on a guided walk at the amazing Cherry Hinton Chalk Pits nature reserve and indulge in a feast of cheeses and refreshments courtesy of The Cambridge Cheese Company.

Discover how rare plants have reclaimed this former quarry, why Romans settled here and how the chalk was created in the first place. As it gets dark, you will witness the aerial skills of bats and observe the unique behaviour of glow-worms.

The walk will partly be on bare chalk which can be slippery even in dry conditions. Please wear appropriate footwear such as trainers or walking boots.

Please note that there is no parking at the nature reserve itself. Parking is available in nearby residential roads. A cycle rack is available and the reserve is well served by local buses.
