The most important aspect of this role is to connect the Trust with the local community, and to represent the Trust to local people. You might do this in a number of different ways including:

• Being a presence onsite, especially during bluebell season, and encouraging people to act respectfully
• Encouraging sustainable use of the reserve by discussing the topic with friends, family and neighbours
• Signposting people on social media to relevant information
• Reminding people to keep their dog on a lead
• Posting positive updates linked to the reserve on social media
• Promoting events on Facebook or by putting up posters
• Reporting to the Trust if there are any concerns in the community regarding the reserves
• Introducing the Trust to a community group

You will walk their local reserve on a regular basis and:

• Report back any problems such as fallen trees or vandalism, with a detailed description, photographs and location
• Pick up litter
• Report any interesting wildlife to the local records centre

We are looking for people who live nearby and are happy to walk the reserve several times a week.
