In what has been another challenging year for face-to-face activities, we were grateful to be able to restart holding events on our reserves, at our activity centres and out in the community.
We wanted to share a few photos from those events.

It has meant a lot to our team to be able to hold face-to-face events again and welcome back not only regular faces and groups but also visit schools to inspire a love of nature. Here's what they had to say:
"I have been out and about in central Beds helping people ‘get back to nature’. It’s been so lovely to welcome people back to events. 😊 "

“We’ve had more visits from local schools this year than ever before. It seems the pandemic has brought into focus the importance of local outdoor green space to the wellbeing of children and it’s great that so many local schools are now keen to work with us.”
Katie at the Nene Wetlands
“We have been so struck by how much even tiny children are keen to interact with the natural surroundings! Gazing across at lakes filled with lily pads – really observing their scenery and interacting, reaching for flowers in the meadow.”
Debbie at Paxton Pits
"We’ve had the first Little Bugs pre-school programme on Cambourne Nature Reserve. The sessions went really well: we found some devils coach horse beetles, splashed in puddles, collected fallen petals in the community orchard, saw herons, and generally had a nice time outdoors in nature. It really has been special to be on our amazing nature reserves with children again."
Becca Neal at West Cambs 100
"Families were able to enjoy themselves at our half term family event. They followed the trail and took home some simple craft activities. One Mum said it was the best day out they had had for such a long time and her small son said best day he had had in his life! Possibly a slight exaggeration but nonetheless it was good to see everyone go home happy having had a good day in the great outdoors. It almost felt like old times having them back."

We offer events year-round at our activity centres across the three counties, including the following regular sessions:
We also offer a range of events for adults, from Wildlife Training Workshops providing more technical knowledge on specific species to mindfulness and art sessions.
