Thanks for our River Wardens for another great clear-up, the Renhold Brook in Bedford was given a thorough face lift in August, in partnership with Bedford Borough Council, and a volunteer from Priory Country Park.
Thanks to their hard work 21 trollies, 8 bikes, numerous bags of rubbish, a trampoline, a flat screen TV and a laptop, amongst other bits like pallets and fence posts, were liberated from the water, making it cleaner for wildlife and human residents alike.
Our River Wardens scheme has been running since summer 2017, and we've done much work to help the waterways in Bedfordshire including monitoring nitrate and phosphate levels and providing information about invasive non-native species - as well as other clean ups like this. Many thanks to all our volunteers!
