30 Days Wild - Day Seven - Keep your eyes peeled in the garden
Thanks to our trusty trail camera, installed in our back garden, we've captured this footage of a wonderful visitor. We had the enormous privilege of being visited by this beautiful, and rare, turtle dove, for several days. It was with us for at least two hours on 29th May, pictured here braving the many collared doves and wood pigeons which also feed from the tray.
We were also lucky enough to have a pair visit us in 2016 but nothing last year so were delighted to see one back this year and quite surprised as we had not heard its babbling brook call before we saw it.
I am part of the Great Fen Community Garden Birdwatch group so have been thrilled to be able to report this to Henry! We will keep the camera out, thunder storms permitting, and see how long it stays with us. It arrived later than the 2016 pair due, we think, to the weather in Spring so may stay later as well.
Ways to go wild...
Keep your eyes peeled on your garden – you never know what might call in. Especially if you've got some seed out for the birds.
Go even wilder by installing your own trail camera to capture photos and images triggered by a motion sensor, day or night!
