About the event
During this Youth Ranger session, for anyone living in Luton or Bedfordshire who is aged 12-18yrs old, we will meet the sheep, lambs and our very own sheepdog Hope- our conservation grazing team who manage Pegsdon Hills. We will then go for a walk to explore this unique nature reserve and monitor the site for pasque flowers!
These monthly sessions provide opportunities for meeting other young people interested in the natural environment, learning new skills, as well as exploring a variety of green spaces across Bedfordshire. This is a great chance to learn about one of Wildlife Trust's biggest chalk grassland sites with stunning views all around!
We will meet at the main field gate entrance for 10 am start. If using What3words App for the entrance to Pegsdon Hills Nature reserve, search: fools.outer.bathtubs
Parking is available on the nature reserve; main entrance gate opposite Pegsdon Houses.
Refreshments and safety gloves will be provided to all those attending the session. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy boots, no experience is required just some enthusiasm and willingness to join in. We will be walking through the site to meet the sheep and explore the area for wildlife. We advise you to wear walking boots if possible as some of the paths are steep/ uneven. If you have any concerns or questions regarding accesability, please get in touch.
Staff are on hand throughout the session and do contact us before this event if you have any queries.
*If you have not attended a Youth Ranger session before there is a parental permission form to complete, please contact Matt before booking.
