Learn how to identify ancient woodland by physical features
About the event
Ancient woodland is defined as having existed continuously since the year 1600. It is an irreplaceable habitat, home to a wide range of different species, a culmination of the interaction of people and nature over many hundreds of years. This workshop will cover ancient woodland in the landscape, and how to identify it through physical features, signs of former management and the presence of characteristic indicator species.
