About the event

This is part of a series of outdoor home-school sessions Wednesday mornings through the warmer months on Cambourne Nature Reserve. They are best enjoyed as a short or long programme where regular attendees will be invited to contribute to the planning of upcoming sessions, but can also be attended as stand-alone sessions.

  • Spring: 5 weekly sessions starting Wednesday 24th April
  • Summer: 5 weekly sessions starting Wednesday 5th June
  • Autumn: 5 weekly sessions starting Wednesday 25th September

Becca Badger is an experienced outdoor educator and qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader. These sessions are delivered in a child-led way, in small groups, with a choice of activities each time. The kind of things we might get up to are: shelter-building, outdoor art, bug hunting, photography, a nature walk, pond dipping, and bird watching...Some weeks we might just make rope swings! We don't bring equipment for all activities every week,  but we discuss each week what activities we might want to do in future sessions.

These session are perfect for families with children aged 5-13. We are very flexible, but please note that there are Little Bugs sessions available which are more appropriate for pre-school children.

We are all individuals, and we understand that some home-school families have complex needs. Please contact us to discuss if these sessions are right for you, and how we can ensure your family get the most from them.
