About the event

Have you begun planning ahead for your future?

Do you have questions about your Will and the legacy you hope to leave?

Have you considered including a lasting message of love and hope for nature?

At the Wildlife Trust BCN, our supporters all love and appreciate nature and want to ensure it is protected. Future planning, through writing or updating your Will, is one way in which you can declare your love for nature and take action to protect it long into the future.

Join our friendly team at this free legacy event to gain a deeper insight into the work of the Wildlife Trust BCN, our mission for the future, and how gifts in Wills have an important role to play in safeguarding our local wildlife for generations to come. With arrival from 9:30am onwards, we will provide tea, coffee and light refreshments before beginning our presentations at 10am.

Brian Eversham, CEO, will share his passion for our three counties and an insight into the Trusts’ past, present and future, with a focus on the invaluable ways gifts in Wills directly impact the wildlife we all know and love. Next, gain expert advice from Wildlife Trust BCN Trustee, nature lover, and trained solicitor, James Marsh, who will share information about the legal side of Will writing, future planning, and including charitable gifts as part of your legacy.

An opportunity to ask questions will then be available over further tea, coffee and biscuits, with the event closing at 11:30am.

However, you are also invited to join us for an optional, gentle, guided walk around some of the Grafham Water nature reserve, lead by our reserve manager who will share more about the work of the Trust and some of the wildlife your Will could protect. We hope to spend time identifying orchids, recognising songbirds, and visiting one of the hides to spot the wildfowl this reserve is famous for, weather and seasonal timing dependent. Binoculars are recommended. This walk is estimated to be approximately 1.5-2 miles in length and is expected to last from 11:30am - 1pm.

The event will be fully accessible, and the guided walk will be tailored to the abilities of the group.
