Wildlife Training Workshops 2025 Programme
For 2025 the majority of the training workshops programme is face-to-face with a few online workshops being held before the spring, using Microsoft Teams Town Halls.

Workshop topics
Vertebrates
From amphibians, birds and small mammals, our vertebrate training courses offer an insight into some of our most iconic species. These workshops should improve your field skills for surveying and monitoring vertebrates such as raptors, small mammals and birds.
Invertebrates
From flies to bumblebees, dragonflies and butterflies discover the fascinating world of invertebrates. A wide range of workshops covering identification, basic ecology and monitoring of invertebrates.
Botany
Explore the wonderful world of plants from wildflower identification to learning more about grasses and trees. Primarily concerned with teaching wildflower identification skills both indoors and in the field.
Our introductory workshops are ideal for beginners looking to brush up their skills.

Lower plants and fungi
Learn more about lower plants. A small number of introductory workshops concerned with the identification and basic ecology of mosses, liverworts, ferns, horsetails and fungi.

Following the success last year of the Spoon Carving workshops with Mark Ricketts, we are running them again during 2025.
Basic Ecology Skills
New for 2025, in addition to an Introduction to Ecology workshop for teenagers, we are also running an Introduction to Invertebrates workshop for this age group thanks, to funding from HLF through the Peatland Progress project.
